The Violet is set along Bee Street in Cannonborough–Elliotborough, one of the Charleston peninsula’s oldest and most character-rich neighborhoods. First settled in 1785, the area takes its name from Colonel Barnard Elliott and Daniel Cannon, a local carpenter and lumber-mill owner whose lands helped shape the growing city beyond its original boundaries.
Unlike the grand estates found elsewhere in historic Charleston, Cannonborough–Elliotborough developed as a working residential neighborhood. Charleston single houses, Freedman’s cottages, Victorian homes, churches, corner stores, and later architecture remain part of its distinctive streetscape- revealing generations of craftspeople, merchants, immigrants, and true Charlestonians who contributed to the life of the community.
Today, that layered history meets the creative spirit of modern Charleston, making the neighborhood one of the city’s most authentic and evolving places to experience.

This place was so cute and accommodated my family wonderfully. We each had our own rooms and the beds were comfortable. I love that we had a private pool, especially when it got so hot. It was great that we also had two parking spaces included.

Had my bachelorette here! Great size for all of the girls. We were able to play mermaids in the pool and then convert the courtyard for a hibachi night. The set up with the big bunk beds worked perfectly with a group of our size.
